The Challenge

On September 25, 2026, Global Brotherhood Foundation (GBF) celebrated a significant milestone in education at Government Boys Primary School Cheermayoon, in Tehsil Gupis, District Ghizer. Mr. Sharif Ullah, President of the Local Council Gupis, graced the opening ceremony and inaugurated the renovated and well-furnished ECD center, which was funded entirely by GBF.

The project shows how targeted support for a government primary school can change the learning experience of its youngest students. The early years are when children build their first attitudes toward school, so a safe, comfortable and stimulating classroom matters a great deal.

The school’s ECD classroom was not equipped to serve young learners. The room had physical damage and electrical problems, and it lacked proper furniture. Children had no suitable chairs, tables or reading corner, which hurt their comfort, concentration and enjoyment of learning.The conditions also limited teachers. A room that was uncomfortable and not fully functional made it hard to use interactive, play-based methods suited to early childhood education.

Our approach

GBF’s support was delivered in two phases, restoring the room first and then furnishing it.

Renovation work underway in the ECD center at Government Boys Primary School Cheermayoon, with walls being plastered and repaired as part of the GBF-funded project.

Phase 1: Renovation of the ECD center

1. Plastering: Walls were plastered to give the room a clean, smooth and durable finish.

2. Repair of damages: Existing structural and surface damage was fixed, making the classroom safe and sound.

3. Electrical repairs: Electrical faults were fixed so the room has reliable lighting and power.

4. Full restoration of function: With these works complete, the center became fully functional and ready for daily use.

Phase 2: Furnishing the classroom

After the renovation, GBF donated modern, child-friendly Furniture:
1. Chairs
2. Tables
3. Book
4. Shelf
5. Carpet

Together, the renovation and the furniture turned a neglected room into a peaceful, welcoming learning space for ECD children.

Future Plans

GBF’s continued support will further strengthen the school’s infrastructure and educational programs. By improving facilities and learning conditions, GBF aims to empower young learners and help give every child in the area a strong start in education.

Our Impact

Transform Learning Environment

The renovation and furnishing of the ECD center has transformed the learning experience for the youngest students at Government Boys Primary School Cheermayoon. The repaired walls, restored electrical system and new child-friendly furniture, including chairs, tables, a bookshelf and a carpet, have created a comfortable, safe and interactive where children

can learn and play in peace.

Students are now more excited about attending school, which encourages regular attendance and active participation from the earliest years of their education. Teachers, in turn, can focus on creative, child-centered teaching methods rather than working around poor classroom conditions.

Beyond the classroom, the inauguration, attended by local leadership, reflects growing community confidence in the value of investing in children’s education.
